Unfortunately, on time constraint and no one I asked giving consent for video interview, I am unable to provide videos this week.
This time around a wrote a pitch on a piece of paper and asked for the interviewee's reaction. This gave me raw feedback. Instead of doing my research and asking the "right people" I decided to approach randoms so that I could get the most out of my responses.
What I learned the most is that the people I approached (all a part of the institution) seemed very open to the idea of my business and seemed to value wellness. Everyone was like-minded and no one seemed to hate the idea or be opposed to spreading awareness for wellness and mindfulness.
What surprised me this time around is that no one wanted to be on video and hated the idea of it.
I think it's great you approached random customers. The initial reactions piece was huge, you really get a feeling for how a marketing campaign would go with your market segment. It is unfortunate that your customers didn't give consent to be recorded, but next time be sure to include transcripts or one might think you didn't interview customers at all! ReplyDeleteTina,
ReplyDeleteI also wrote down my business concept and had my interviewees read it and respond. It was a great way to get a true expression out of people. It is definitely better to interview random people and I'm sure you got better responses that way. I don't know what you had your interviewees read and respond to, but a but a business concept that is centered around making people feel better will lead to positive responses because most people want to feel better and be more well. Writing down and explaining to interviewees what the business does, how it operates, how it uses marketing, how it will grow, and how it makes money are things that potential customers may be interested in and you can get some better more engaging responses if you ask questions regarding these things. Hey Tina, I really liked your idea of writing out your pitch for people to read and them get their full reaction... wish I would have thought of that! Approaching random people to interview was also a great idea to get better more complete feedback. I am curious though as to what exactly your business idea since people responded so favorably towards it!
